Wireless For Business Made Easy

Wireless for business is here and here to stay. There is no fighting it, or disputing it. If your business does not have a wireless solution, or worse yet, has one that is impractical and costly, then this article just may help you. Why would a business in the latter situation be worse off than the former?

To put it simply :

  • Lost calls due to poor coverage
  • Savings plans that are mismatched with employee productivity times
  • Plans with coverage that is way beyond what your business needs
  • Plans with not enough coverage for what your business needs
  • Pricey, over "gimmicked" phones that offer too little bang for the buck

Let's briefly tackle each one of these issues:

  • What good is it to tell clients, vendors, prospects, and partners to call you anytime, when your service cuts out often when you turn East on Old Mill Road? Or when you park behind the building? Or when you are anywhere indoors? Choose a wireless provider who has a proven track record, and offers plenty of back up service should you be out of reach of their towers. (roaming plans)
  • "Free Weekends"! . "Unlimited Evenings"!. "Useless"! That is if you or your employees do not make business calls on the weekends or evenings like normal folk, but you are crazy and do most of your business during the daylight hours. What are you thinking? Choose cellular plans that fit the times not only when you will be calling, but when you will be called.
  • Now that you have opened your Postcard store in your small town, and have chosen this great new cellular plan offered to businesses that guarantees service in the US, Canada and 14 other countries, you can begin to plan your semi annual business trip to the next county over. (By the way there is nothing wrong with small town business, as this author is one!) Make sure you get coverage that serves you and your business needs no matter how large or small. Plans change every year, so if your needs grow, then so can your plan when it is needed.
  • On the flip side (now that phrase dates me, hmm?) should you be a business that has sales folk flying all over the place, even out of the country from time to time, you would be taking out monthly loans to cover your wireless bills if you had chosen a Pre-paid or Local cellular calling plan or land lines with high long distance rates. Research where you go, how often, and how long you or your sales staff are there. Talk with knowledgeable wireless dealers about your needs before committing to that 2 year contract you can't get out of.
  • Blackberries are great, don't get me wrong. Camera phones, amazing! They do video now too? Speakerphones, a must while driving. MP3 player AND a phone? Cool! I can jam out with clients, take a conference call in the car, and capture it on video all as proof to the boss that I do work! Great gadgets out there. But great bling, won't necessarily make the order-line ring, know what I'm sayin? (ok my daughter just rolled her eyes at that one) I am just saying that choose the equipment that is suited to your business. If you don't make conference calls, why have 3 way calling? If you are a real estate agent, or insurance agent or anyone who needs instant images of something, why a camera phone? Like a trained mechanic, choose the right tool for the job.

Well not rocket science here, but as you can see, a few simple choices before you sign on the dotted line can give you a world of savings and peace of mind in your wireless plan choice. For those of you who already are wishing they had saved the receipt, use the above information to look seriously at what you are paying for and put together your plan for changing it in the future. Enlisting a well trained expert such as this site provides, will save you much in the long run.
